Family-Placed Death Notice
Sonja Rueffert Walcott, age 34 of Jasper passed early Saturday morning February 28, 2004. Memorial services will be held Monday, March 1st at 3 p.m. from Jasper First Baptist Church, Dr. Charlie Boggan and Rev. Max Caylor officiating. Surviving are the husband, Tobin R. Walcott, Jasper; parents, Joe and Brenda Rueffert, Jasper; mothers and fathers in law, Dee and Tony Miller, Kalkaska, Michigan; Roland and Pat Walcott, Naples, Florida; brother and sister in law, Hans and Amy Rueffert, Jasper; sister in law, and brother in law, Angela and Jason Wynn, Flint, Michigan; nephews, Finn Rueffert, Parker Wynn, nieces, Ella Rueffert and Olivia Wynn. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Pickens Animal Rescue, PO Box 45, Jasper, GA. 30143. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Monday, March 1st in the New Sanctuary area of Jasper First Baptist Church with memorial services following at 3 p.m. in the new Sanctuary of Jasper First Baptist Church. Tobin,
Sonja was an incredible person, she epitomized the fighting spirit so well. She loved being your wife and she loved being alive. She will be missed and her spirit will be forever revered. May she have peace and you the comfort of being a richer person for having shared your lives together.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to Tobin and to Sonja's family. I worked with Sonja at Home Depot when we were both auditors. Sonja was one of the kindest and truly nicest people I have ever known. She had an awesome sense of humor and could return a punch line (or make one up) just as quickly as anyone I have ever met. I count myself very fortunate indeed to have had the honor of knowing Sonja and being able to call her not just a co-worker, but a friend. Thank you Sonja for having been you! You will be missed and you and your family are our thoughts and prayers.
