Solly Cox Obituary

SOLLY WYATT COX, JR., 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Sunday, September 22, 2002 after a short illness. Solly was born in Austin, Texas on September 12, 1927 to Sollie W. Cox and Donna Temple Cox. He graduated from Austin High School and attended the University of Texas. He proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Solly worked in retail sales all his life, was a leader in his field and loved training young salesmen in his profession. He was employed by Morgan Buildings and Spas for more than 25 years as Regional Manager, Branch Manager and Commercial Salesman. He was a longtime member and Head Usher- Greeter of Braeswood Assembly of God Church in Houston,Texas Solly is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Glenice Cox; sister, Bertha Thompson; son Solly Wyatt (Trey) Cox III; daughters Rebecca Cox and Cheryl Daymen and her husband Dwight; grandchildren, Chrysti Bowersox and her husband Matt; Danielle Hall; and Tyler Daymen; great-grandchildren, Chrystal, Ronnie and Christian Bowsher; Jenna Thong; Jonathan Cisco; and Noah Hall-Seaback; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Braeswood Assembly of God Church, 10611 Fondren, Houston, Texas on Wednesday, September 25, at 10 AM with interment at the family cemetery, High Grove, Texas. If desired, memorial gifts may be made to Teen Challemge of Houston, Braeswood Assembly of God Church, 10611Fondren, Houston, Texas 77096.
