Beloved husband and best friend for 54 years of the late Eva (nee Kanofsky), loving father of Gayle (Dean) Varveris, Howard (Caryn Weiner) Ellman and Judy (Barry) Glaser, devoted grandfather to Gregory, Jason, Lizzy, Jonah, Sam and Rosie. Long time and active member of Ezra Habonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation. Services Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at Ezra Habonim The Niles Township Jewish Congregation, 4500 W. Dempster, Skokie, IL, 60076 Interment Shalom. World War II U.S. Navy veteran. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name to The American Cancer Society, 820 Davis St., Suite 340, Evanston, IL 60201 or Ezra Habonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation would be appreciated. My memories of your father date back far before any of us (except Gayle and Dino) were married. The memories I hold of Sheldon and Eva are ALL warm, familial and kind. Back in Devonshire, they felt like more than just your parents .. they felt almost like our parents, too. I am saddened for your loss, and filled with love for your memories that will last forever.
