Sharlet Goodyear Obituary
Sharlet W.
Age 97, of Horseheads, passed away, Monday, April 7, 2008, at Elcor Health Services. Sharlet was born October 17, 1910 in Elmira, NY, the daughter to the late Raymond and Alice (Wheeler) Walters. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank E. Goodyear in 1979; sister, Alice (Tiny) Cady; and brother, James Walters. Sharlet is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Ed Olmsted) Whitaker of Horseheads, NY; sons and daughters-in-law, John E. (Gayle) Goodyear of Tulsa, OK, and Dr. James A. (Debra) Goodyear of Berlin, WI; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Sharlet was a member of the Fist United Methodist Church in Horseheads, a life member of Eastern Star and retired from Winchester Optical in Elmira, NY. A memorial service will be held at a later date with interment beside her late husband in Maple Grove Cemetery, Horseheads. Those wishing to express their sympathy may do so with memorials to the First United Methodist Church Living Memorial Endowment Fund, 1034 West Broad Street, Horseheads, NY 14845. Arrangements are with the Barber Funeral Home, Horseheads, NY.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.

They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
