Sergio Rossi Obituary

Dearest Joanne and the Gizzi, Pichietti and Rossi families,

Larry and I are sad to hear the news too late to be there with you this weekend. You are in our prayers and thoughts. We have happy memories of Sarge and his sense of humor. I will be writing you soon, Joanne.

It was third grade when I first met Sergio and he spoke very little English, but we became friends almost immediately and remained so forever even though time and distance separated us. I have such good memories of us growing up and will never forget his caring ways and his always being there for me. Like the time you and he both drove from Chicago to Detroit in the HOT summer of 1976 to be Godparents to Ryan, or the time Sergio planned and hosted the meal during my Dad's passing at Stefano's where everything was prepared especially for us as NOTHING was on the menu. This is TRULY a person who showed love and caring to me and my family and we will never forget him. God may he finally rest in peace.

I will always remember that not even a huge snowstorm (and a harrowing cab ride from NY to NJ) kept your Sergio from getting to our wedding in December 1969. I know he will be missed by everyone that knew him. My Sergio thought the world of him...and so did I. May your memories of him comfort you always.
