Scott Jacobs Obituary
Scott William Jacobs (Chicago and formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin) born of Burleigh and Janet Jacobs on March 27, 1950, passed away at age 71 on October 21, 2021.
Scott spent a lifetime in journalism, first with the Harvard Crimson followed by several years with the Milwaukee Sentinel and the Chicago Sun-Times. Leaving print reporting, he entered the emerging world of video journalism free-lancing a variety of stories that interested him. In time, he founded and managed the Chicago video editing house IPA for a couple of decades.
Throughout his life, Scott avidly followed and reported on local and national politics, particularly presidential campaigns. In addition to a portfolio of books and screenplays, he wrote a weekly blog under the pseudonym Stump Connolly and most recently completed his assessment of the Trump phenomenon in the forthcoming book I Told You So!.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Domino Jacobs and sons Nick Jacobs, Justin Jacobs, and Ben (Ria) Jacobs. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Merrill) York, brothers Bruce (Elizabeth) Jacobs and Bill (Mary) Jacobs, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 8th, at St. Hedwig Church, 2226 N. Hoyne Ave., Chicago, 60647 from 9:00 a.m. until of Memorial Mass 10:00 a.m. A graveside service at Graceland Cemetery will follow.

So very sorry to hear about Scott's passing. He was such a vibrant and creative individual who mentored many young people on their way up in the production industry in Chicago. His laughter was contagious - and his spirit was always bright. It was great to work with Scott as his General Manager at IPA - and I appreciated the opportunity he gave me. Rest in peace, my friend.
