Scott Bruner Obituary

Scott Bruner was a good man. He prosecuted a case against a man who did great harm to my mother and I. He called to check up on us years later, and stayed on top of when this man was up for parole. I will never forget this man, nor what he did for our peace of mind. At a time when I had few good male rolemodels in my life, he was a shining example of how a man should be and treat others. My deepest condolences.

So very sorry to hear of this. I just read this news tonight. I remember Scott as a happy kid in Westmont. As I have forgotten many
kids I grew up around, I will always remember him.

Lillian, Van and Mary,
As I scroll through this message board I read words of saddness, words of encouragement but what I see most is how many lives Scott touched in a wonderful way. I only knew Scott through the many stories Lillian told us while we worked. Scott you made Lillian the proudest mother. Lillian Hugs can only soften the blow of losing a child, your child. But hugs can help you heal. Scott is in a much better place, and one day we will all join him. We will be greeted with that big smile that lit up a room. My heart and my prayers go out to the Bruner Family.

Bruner family, I am thinking of you and wishing you peace and comfort. I was glad to meet Scott & Mary at Sears Tower a year ago for the lighting for pancreatic cancer awareness, and at the Wellness House. You are in my thoughts. Claudia Trapp

I attended elementary and high school with Scott. I'll always remember the best dressed little kid on the first day of school. Such a bright and wonderful smile, he would brighten any room with just that smile. A wonderful personality, I'm so saddened at the loss of such a wonderful person. I knew Scott from Haddon Township High School. In my early 40's it's hard to put names with faces and remember my classmates, but Scott is someone that I will ALWAYS remember. He was an extreme acheiver, a role model, and an inspiration to everyone around him as a teenager. Not only will I never forget him, I am a better person for having the priveledge of knowing him. Even though I haven't spoken to Scott for over 20 years, my heart is deeply saddened over his passing. I pray that cherished memories of his love and devotion to you will help carry you through your grief. I will be praying for you. Thanks to Scott's contribution, this world is a better place. His positive impact on people will continue to carry his legacy of excellence for generations. He will never be forgotten. God bless you all.

Mary and Cate, I'll remember Scott as a truly generous man, ever willing to give of himself to others. Heaven will resound with louder praise for it now has a new Choir Conductor. Rest now Good Soul.

The Board and staff of the Constitutional Rights Foundation Chicago mourn the loss of Scott. He was always generous with his time and wisdom. He actively supported the efforts of young people to learn more about our democracy and to become engaged citizens. Scott was warm and kind, insightful and helpful. He looked out for other people, and he followed a true path. We will miss him.

We are mourning the loss of our treasured friend Scott. We have been so awed by your courage, faith, and love during this most difficult time. One of my proudest moments was standing on the alter as your matron of honor at your wedding. We will always remember our unique friend Scott--the day we met, he was walking around Harvard Law School in a Sherlock Holmes coat and cap.
