Scott Bombacino Obituary

Bombacino, Scott 40, of Plainfield, at peace, August 23, 2009 after a courageous year long battle with cancer. He was born January 3, 1969 in Chicago. Scott worked at the Chicago Mercantile/Board of Trade since 1994. He was a passionate, caring man that devoted every moment of his life to his family, friends and everyone he knew. He enjoyed coaching, and watching his children play baseball and soccer. He was the strongest, most inspiring man that most people will have ever met. Thinking of you especially today Sending love to Cindy, Tyler, and Alyssa

God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

God Bless you Scott

Amen.

I am sorry that I didn't find out about his passing until after the wake. I went to grade school and HS with him and always thought he was a wonderful person! He was always nice even though he was one of our best athletes. Regards,

We met Scott when we coached baseball together a few years ago. AJ was the youngest on the team by a couple years and had a hard time adjusting to playing with kids a couple years older. Scott was amazing with him, always encouraging, always coming a little early to work with him, and was always supportive. He was incredible with all the kids but especially the ones who needed a little extra.

The love he had for his family was very evident and Scott was a great example of a father to all of us.

We are so saddened to hear of his passing but know his legacy will live on through his children and everyone he touched. We will pray for peace and blessing for your family.

We were deeeply saddened to hear about your loss and words can't even begin to express how saddened we are to hear about Scott. Although it has now been many years since we have last seen Scott, we lived next to Scott, Anthony and Michelle in Burbank so we had the pleasure for many years watching Scott grow up into a young man. I will never forget how special my time with Scott was during the New Orleans trip prior to and then the wedding of his brother, my best friend and the one who called Scott his Hero. Out late the first night to no surprise I made it to the gym the next morning early, who was just about finishing their workout......of course with a big smile on his face. At the wedding I was pulled aside for Scott and touched me for life by sharing how incredible this night was for him to see and how this was what life was all about. I know he is still looking over his family and continuing to be the hero in everyone's eyes. He is in a better place and will be dearly missed. My sincere love and support goes out to the family in this trying time.

Bombacino Family,

It was a pleasure knowing Scotty, he was a trusted friend and dear soul. The train rides from Rt 59 into Chicago always seemed fast with good company and laughter however, Scotty was knowned to fall asleep on the returned trip and would need a reminder by Jeff Adams that our stop was next. He was a friend that would listen and share his view on any given topic and when it came to baseball he was the authority!. Scotty will never be forgotten.

Two years ago, Scott and I met as a couple of soccer dads as our daughters are teammates. We quickly became close friends, and it is friendship I will always cherish. I’ll miss the daily conversations Scott and I shared about our families, sports, and life in general.

Scott had an absolutely great passion for both of his children’s sports. He attended every practice and game that he possibly could. At his kids’ games and practices, he shared with them many words of wisdom as a coach, and more importantly, many words of love and inspiration as a dad.

Anyone who’s had the honor of having Scott a part of his or her life, even if it were for a little while, has truly been blessed. I’ll miss you, my friend.

Cindy,

I've known you forever and love you so much. There are no words good enough or strong enough to describe the sorrow in my heart for your family.

I loved Scott! I have many memories of all our silly and fun times over all the years. Scott may have shook his head sometimes, but always had a smile on his face.

I will forever carry Scott's memories in my heart. I realize how blessed I was to know him. Scott, was a pure soul, so honest, kind, loving, and strong. Always thinking of everyone else.

I love you all so much! I am always here for you and your family.

I started on the floor with Scott, we were runners together, he was always helpful and always in a good mood, even after we didn't work for the same company he always said hi and would ask how I was doing, he was one of the nicest guys I've met in all the years I've been on the floor, I'll say a prayer for your family.
