Sarah McIntosh Obituary

McINTOSH
SARAH
Sarah McIntosh, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at her home in Mt. Lebanon of cancer. She was 79. Sarah, a financial market analyst was a loyal, dedicated employee of the Harbison Walker Company for over 40 years. Her true loves in life however, were the people around her and her home and garden. She loved to cook and she loved to feed her friends-she was known as the "Queen of Chicken a-la-King" and always had plenty of treats on hand for neighborhood kids who she especially loved. Many people knew Sarah for the beautiful garden she would plant every spring along the lane and hers was known as the begonia house. Sarah's was always the first Christmas card you'd receive; she never missed a birthday and was always the first to reach for her purse to pay the check. There will be NO VISITATION. Arrangements by the JOHN F. SLATER FUNERAL HOME, INC. Graveside services will be held Tues., August 2 at Jefferson Memorial Park in Pleasant Hills. Friends will gather at 11:00 am in the parking lot at the Administration Bldg. Memorials can be sent to: Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pgh., PA 15228.

I knew Sarah as the sister of Tom McIntosh, my mentor and boss at the H. J. Heinz Company. Sarah was always generous, gregarious and gracious. I was unaware of her passing and am saddened. She will be missed by so many. A wonderful friend.

Sorry to hear of the passing of a real force in the class of 1943 at Brentwood High School. Sarah was very active in school affairs. And she could really hit a soft ball.

I remember Sarah from working with her at Harbision-Walker. Though my job did not require much need for interaction, I was a good friend of the Advertising department employees and Sarah was always in that department. She was so charming and possessed a wealth of knowledge about EVERYTHING! I've been gone from Pittsburgh for 30 years now but remember her well. Sorry to hear of her passing.

Sarah was a dear friend. I thought so much of her I named my 2nd child afterher. I often told Sarah, if I had only known that I was going to have boy/girl twins I would not have named my Sarah, Sarah. She said why? I told her I would have named the twins Sarah, and Tom.. There were no closer brother and sister than Sarah and Tom...
