Samuel Vaccarella Obituary
AGE: 95 • Mt. Ephraim
Samuel L. Vaccarella, Sr., age 95, died peacefully on August 7, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at his daughter Linda's home in Washington Twp. Sam was a longtime resident of Mt. Ephraim. Beloved husband of the late Ethel (nee Law). He is the cherished father of Father Samuel L. Vaccarella, T.O.R., JoAnn Gallagher (Richard), Nancy Karaszkiewicz (Jim) and Linda Fort (Ed). Proud and devoted grandfather of Brian, Sam, Sheri and Eddie. He was the dear brother of Leon "Ollie" (Annetta), John and the late Lena Pietrofitta, Joe, Nien and Frank. He will also be missed by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sam was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Ephraim and served as President of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. He served his country in the Army during World War II. Sam was inducted into Hammonton High School's Athletic Hall of Fame. Sam retired from NJ Transit after 42 years as a Class A bus mechanic and was a member of their 25 Year Club.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday 7:00 - 9:00 pm and Thursday 9:15 - 10:15 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church, 176 Stagecoach Rd. Sicklerville. Interment will be at New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sam's memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.

Sam will always be remembered for his love of family, wisdom, faith and positive outlook. He was a true role model.

Uncle Sam I will always remember your big heart and your great laugh. I will never forget the time u came to the hospital when my grandmother had heart surgery and talked to grand pop about your Italy trip because u knew he was scared and needed a distraction. That's the person u were and u will always hold a special place in my heart.
