hey sam...it's jan 2012..you have been on my mind and heart for a long
time..i still have one of your vm on my cell..i always save it..it warmed my heart and kept you close to me..your laugh and bella barking in the background.. started to write you a letter...but first checked online and found that you have 'moved on.' i know you are still here and a part of you will forever live in my heart and memory. you ..a remarkable,
intuitive, sensitive, kind and brave young woman. thank you for sharing some of your time and music with me ..your friend...laurie ortiz rn....ps :) i still have some of the lavender lotion...:) i love you. till the 'next turn' xoxo

My deepest sympathy to all of Samantha's family and friends. She touched the hearts of so many who, like me, never knew her. Her courage and humor throughout her terrible illness -- as recorded in the blog she shared-- reminded me over and over of how precious life is. God bless you all.

I didn't know Sammy, but through her blog I was touched by her fearless, optimistic spirit. She was truly an inspiration to me and I thank the Cippola family for nurturing such a graceful young lady.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Samantha. We are sorry for your loss.

Remember all the good times and all the joy you shared. Think back on all the laughter and wipe the tears away for as long as her love lives in you, Samantha's never really gone. Sending my deepest sympathies to the entire Cipolla Family.

I can't begin to tell you how sorry my family is about your loss of Samantha. My son Bill Mangan met Sam freshman year at NIU and never stopped talking about her. It was like we knew her for years without ever meeting .Our Prayers will always be with Sam and your family

It's always hard when anyone close to us dies but especially a beautiful young person with their whole life ahead of them, you are in my family's prayers many of the aunt's and uncle's went to school with myself and my brothers. You are in our prayers during this diffucult time.

To the Cipolla family, while I never had the privilege to meet Sam I did go the high School with Chris, and knowing Chris was enough to relize he raised a beautiful loving/caring daughter. My thoughts a prayers go out to you and your family. Cherish the moments you had with Sam

Samantha Cipolla was a wonderful person who brought life to the community. We will have fond memories of her at Glenbrook South High School and especially on the GBS Field Hockey team when it first started. Sam will be remembered as a player and a leader. Thanks Sam, you are the best.

To the parents of Samantha Ann Cipolla,
I rarely read the Sun-Times, but was struck by the photo of your daughter. Today would have been our oldest daughter, Angel's, 38th birthday. Eight years and eleven months ago she lost her battle with an Astrocytoma, leaving a 3 year old daughter and a 6 year old son. I have yet to have answered "Why?" I wish I could tell you it gets easier, but it does not. Like your daughter, Angel was athletic, caring, and beautiful. My wife has found solace in her faith, but I am not so fortunate. I think I am running out of space, so much I thought to write remains locked. I am a better man for my daughter, but the world is a lesser place without her. I am sorry for your loss, and wish you well. Sincerely,

We met your beautiful daughter Sammy at the Highland Park Police event soon after she was diagnosed. She made that evening so memorable, as she was all smiles and so upbeat, despite the long and painful battle that lie ahead of her. She will never be forgotten.
We lost our son, Daniel, just prior to that event. Our pain then was as excruciating as yours is today. We know it is indescribable and only others who have lost a child can know what it's like. I never thought I'd be able to say that although the pain never goes away, we try to take one moment at a time, one hour at a time and one day at a time. We have no other choice...
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
May Sammy rest in peace.

I am so sorry to learn of Sam's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. God will look after her and give you comfort during this difficult time.

I did not know your daughter but I have to express my sincere admiration to her for remaining so upbeat and positive during her illness. She truly was 1 Tuff Cookie. My heartfelt condolences go to her family on this terrible loss. I can't begin to understand what pain her family must be going through at this time. I'm blessed with two healthy children and two unbelievable grandchildren and I and my wife know how lucky we are.

Sammy was a beautiful young lady and did not deserve to endure what she went through. I read her blog and can only recognize what a special person she was, she was truly a gift from God.

May she rest in peace. God bless her and your entire family.

I cannot begin to know what you are going through, please find comfort in knowing that Our Heavenly Father assures us that "He will wipe out every tear from our eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
