Sam Carrozza Obituary

Dear Alvira, Lewis, Elyse, and Tom,

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time. Sam has always been one of my closest friends, since our happy days at Kelly High School and as the originators of the "Chips". Our friendship was special and truly enriched my life. He will be sorely missed.

I was so sorry to hear of Sam's passing! What a truly wonderful man he was! Sam's quick wit and great sense of humor were just a few of his many attributes! Sam was the most honest, hard-working businessman I ever had the pleasure of working with! He was totally dedicated to his family and loved by all! Uncle Sam~ Not too many 13 year olds can say they grew up knowing their great uncle...but I can and boy was it fun! Though I only saw you a few times a year you were always making me laugh. It wasn't that long ago that you would give me a dollar for singing at Christmas. No matter what was going on you always found some kind of good out of the situation and i admire that greatly. Uncle Sam - I always felt it a privilege to be your niece. You always made me feel loved unconditionally. Life takes us down many roads and you always taught me to embrace the good and learn from the not-so-good. You never called anything bad. There are some gentlemen in my life I would address as "Mister" and Mr.Carrozza is one of them.He was one of my baseball coaches at West Lawn and tho I may not have reached his hopes and my potential;his knowledge and leadership make me remember him to this day. On behalf of my wife,Sharon and daughters Jordyn and Jaime ,we express our sympathy to the Carrozza family.

Sam; what can I say about the man that everyone doesn't already know. He had a strength that is rare in this world. His sense of humor had a range beyond any comedian. Never did he have a negative thing to say, he always tried to see the good and explain to you why it was. He made me feel part of his family as soon as I was hired into Sterling. He made me feel like a son, but then I think he made everyone feel that way. It was the best thing that ever happened to my family and me. I am happy to have known the man, but sad that I did not know him longer. Sam, you will always be in my heart and in the hearts of all that knew you.
