Sally Ann Mahaffay McGovern, 70, passed from this life on March 29, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Sally was born on February 27, 1955, in Blue Island, Illinois to the late Walter E. and Louise Abs Mahaffay.

Sally graduated from Harold L. Richards High School in 1973 and spent her career in various roles. She worked as a factory worker, a dedicated school bus driver, and later as a produce manager at Save-A-Lot Grocery Store.

A faithful member of the Wartrace Baptist Church, Sally found community in her church activities. She was deeply committed to her faith, which played a significant role in her life.

Sally had a profound love for animals, especially her dogs, Chief and Sadie, and her cat Twinky. Her compassion for animals was evident to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Lynn (Robert) Stack of Oak Lawn, IL; grandchildren Aaron, Jacen, Juno, and her adopted grandson Michael Angelo Rivera; siblings Vicki Lou Walsh of Wartrace, TN, Terry Lee (Bethanne) Mahaffay of IL, Lesie Jo (Michael) Boudreaux, and Lynne Saccameno of FL; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her cherished fur-babies (Chief, Sadie, and Twinky). Memorial Visitation Saturday, April 19, 2025, 9 A.M. to time of family reflections 11 A.M. at Lack and Sons Funeral Home, 9236 South Roberts Road, Hickory Hills; Inurnent Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery. Family requests that you wear some tie-dye.
