Sadao Harano Obituary

Harano, Sadao

Sada was the beloved husband of the late Gerri (nee Takahashi); dear father of JoAnn Harano, Iris (Mike) Bauer, Avis (John) Davis, and the late LeeAnn Adachi; loving grandpa of seven and great grandpa of six; fond brother of Harold (Noriko) Harano of CA; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Helen (late Robert) Kurita, Manabu (late Tamaki) Harano, Yoshio (late Akiko), Makoto (late Sueko) Harano, Aiko (late Robert) Matsunaga, Mae Harano, and Ethel (late Kazuo) Ohori. Sada was a veteran of the United States Army who proudly served in the Korean War. He was a dedicated machinist at the former General Mailing Services, and foreman at United Bindery Service and the former Printing Master Services. He truly enjoyed the camaraderie with the people he had the opportunity to work with. In his retirement, he enjoyed family times, tending to his garden, watching Chicago sport teams, going to the racetracks, and casinos. Our deep appreciation to Margarita Herrera, Alejandra Gaytan, Alicia Robles, and Joserin Barrera for the compassionate care and support they provided to both our parents. Services will be at the Buddhist Temple of Chicago, 1151 W. Leland Ave. Chicago, IL on September 30th at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Buddhist Temple of Chicago and Lovell Federal Health Care Center (FHCC), North Chicago.
