Geraldine "Gerri" Harano, 93, of Riverwoods and Chicago peacefully passed at home on May 14, 2022. Gerri was born in Kaloko, Hawaii on July 16, 1928. Beloved wife of Sadao; devoted mother of JoAnn Harano, Iris (Michael) Bauer, Avis (John) Davis, and the late LeeAnn Adachi; adoring grandma of Michael Bauer, Kimberly (Marcin) Bies, Kristen (Scott) Nasman, Matthew (Taylor) Adachi, Bailey Davis, Kelsey (DeAngelo) Rodriguez and Eric (fiancée Haley Greene) Shan; loving great-grandma of Mackenzie, Kylie, Amelia, Analeigh and Kaya; fond sister of Haruo (late Betty) Takahashi of San Jose, CA, the late Dixie (late Richard) Nakamoto, the lateTatuso Takahashi, the lateTsuneo (late Norma) Takahashi; dear aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Our deep gratitude to her wonderful caregivers, Margarita Herrera and Alejandra "Alex" Flores. Her faithful furry companions, Kobe, Yuki, and Mikki provided her with much enjoyment and comfort. Family will gather privately. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter orphansofthesstorm.org appreciated.
