Ruth Rimmer Obituary

TILTON-Ruth A. Rimmer, 84, formerly of North Hampton, died Monday October 31, 2005, at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of John and Harriet (Rhoades) McNamee. Following graduation from high school, she enlisted in the US Navy, and served as a Wave during WWII. While in the service she met and married Vance Rimmer. They lived Morocco before returning the United States and settling in North Hampton in 1966.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Rimmer worked as an administrative secretary at Pease Air Force Base and later at Liberty Mutual.

In her seventies, Mrs. Rimmer returned to school and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Travel and Tourism.

Family members include one daughter and son-in-law Sherri and Mohammed Amjad of North Hampton and two grandsons: Jaimi and Sami Choudhry both of North Hampton.

Services-Calling hours will be Wednesday November 2, 2005 from 5-7pm at the Paquette-Neun Funeral Home, 104 Park Street, Northfield. A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 3, 2005 at 12:00pm at the NH Veterans Cemetery, in Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the NH Veterans Home, 229 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276.
