Ruth Burton Obituary
She was a native of Wilkes County and was a homemaker. She was the widow of Julian (Pop) Burton, and was a member of the Mallorysville Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 4:00 at the Mallorysville Baptist Church in Tignall with Rev. Donnie Berry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Marion B. Hammond, of Tignall; one son, Joe Burton, of Tignall; 5 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Active pallbearers will be Gene Wilson, Jim Burton, Lawrence Burton, Allen Burton, Bobby Burton, Tony Burton, Jerome Wilson, and Tim Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Mallorysville Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mallorysville Baptist Church, 199 Bunch Rd., Tignall, GA 30668.

Marion and Family,
I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you on the death of your mother. I did not know your mother personally but if you are any indication of the person she was she would have been a kind person full of love for family and friends and a zeal to live life to the fullest.

I KNOW IN THE SHAPE MS.RUTH WAS IN THAT YOU HATED TO SEE HER LIKE THAT BUT AS YOU ALL KNOW YOU HAVE LOST A SPECIAL PERSON. I REALLY HAVE MISSED HER THE PAST FEW YEARS SINCE I WAS NOT IN THE FLORIST. SHE WAS ALWAYS A DELIGHT TO WAIT ON AND SHARE HER KINDNESS. THINKING OF YOU ALL AT THIS TIME AND I KNOW SHE WILL ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL MEMORY IN EACH OF YOUR HEARTS AS SHE SURE DID IN MINE.
