Ruben Camargo Obituary

Camargo, Ruben A. beloved father of Destiny (Jorge) Resendez, Amanda (Orlando) Orellano, and Leila Camargo; loving Grandfather of Nene, Amaya and his youngest granddaughter due to arrive in September; and dear brother of Betty (Milton) Pena; faithful son of Alicia (pre-deceased) and Armando Camargo, loving uncle of the late Cesar Murguia and cherished nephew; passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on Monday, April 24, 2006. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether the activity be watching TV or cooking for them. Ruben was true Chicagoan and a huge sports fan, who was ecstatic over the White Sox World Series Championship in 2005. Ruben had a great sense of humor, sharp wit and big heart, as shown by his ability to become good friends with just about anyone he met. Other hobbies included traveling to Puerto Rico, drawing, painting and cooking. He was truly a renaissance highlife man. He touched many lives and will be missed by all. A memorial mass will be held at St. Sylvester Church, 2157 N. Humboldt Blvd. Chicago, IL on Sunday, April 30, 2006 at 2:30 P.M. with services to follow.

Dear Betty, Destiny,Amanda,Leila, and the rest of the extended family;

My deepest sympathy to all of you! Ruben will be greatly missed by all who knew him. I know he is at peace , and watching over all of us. I can almost hear his laughter echoeing in my ears as he would talk about his vacations in Puerto Rico. My parents always enjoyed having him.

As I sit here saddened by his passing I am comforted knowing he is no longer in pain. The LORD has welcomed him home, but I will truly miss him. Love you cousin...

We are so happy that we got to know Ruben!! In the little time that we knew him, we realized what a great dad, chef, artist, friend and White Sox fan he was!! I guess God and all the angels knew this too! In that short time, Ruben became part of our family also. Diana, Javier, Max and Alec send you all the hugs and kisses you need to get you through this tough time.
