Big Joe-

I remember how kind you were to me when my mom died, helping with an administrative matter.

I remember how kind you were to me during my divorce.

I remember sending Rose flowers when you lost your first election. Of course, you won your second.

If you receive even half of the kindness now that you and Rose have given others in the past, you are now no doubt being deluged with support, love, and affection.

She was beautiful, warm, and funny.

Rose's death is a great loss, but her life was a far greater gift, to you most of all, but also to anyone who knew her.

Joe,
Alice and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of Rose. While living in the Chicago, IL area and visiting Chicago frequently over the past 40 + years, we always enjoyed getting together with Rose and you at our group meetings and other occasions. Rose was one of the most positive and optimistic persons we have ever met. In spite of her physical limitations, Rose always had a smile and kind word and never complained about her illness.
We are sure she is in a special place in Heaven for those who suffer in silence as she so bravely did. You and Rose will remain in our thoughts and prayers and we look forward to seeing you during our future visits to Chicago.
Sincerely,
Jack and Alice Dowling

Dear Joe,
We share your loss with great sorrow. Roseann was a wonderful friend, caring, warm, sympathetic and full of good humor. She did have a wonderful laugh and always tried to keep a positive outlook. A wonderful example to us all of how to deal with great adversity. We will always remember her fondly.
