Rose Rotenberg Obituary

ROTENBERG, ROSE (POL) August 22, 1925-August 17, 2006. Our cherished mother passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 17 at the age of 80. We all feel deep sorrow at her passing and will miss her humor, wit and sincere honesty. She gave love to her family and friends always, taught us grace, dignity, the importance of listening, learning and growing, generosity, and urged us to always love ourselves as well as others. Rose Pol was born in Seattle on Aug. 22, 1925. After graduating from Garfield High School she attended the University of Washington and even became certified as a pilot to help with World War II efforts. Rose first caught sight of Irv Rotenberg at a dance in Seattle and that was it for both of them - truly love at first sight. They married after the war on March 9, 1946. Rose dedicated her life to family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Irving Rotenberg; son, Kyle Rotenberg; daughters, Keri Nicolaisen and Kathy Sheinin; sons-in-law, Jim Nicolaisen and Curt Sheinin; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Rotenberg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Congregation Shaarie Torah Cemetery on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 12 p.m. Remembrances may be made to Rose Schnitzer Manor, B'nai B'rith Camp or the Oregon Cancer Society. Dearest Mother, rest well now. We hope you are once again dancing, holding your beloved dog, Kippy, playing tennis, flying a plane, traveling, and (of course) humming along.
