Ronald Summerhill Obituary

Summerhill, Ronald Dean Age 58, a resident of Crown Point and previously of Hobart passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2010. He was born on October 16, 1952 in Gary, the son of Carl and Betty Summerhill. Ron was a 1971 Hobart High School Graduate and a graduate of Purdue North Central. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked as an angiogram cat-scan technician for the University of Chicago Hospitals and Methodist Hospitals. He was married to Jenny Gratcyk on March 1, 2003 in Crown Point. Ron was a lifelong member of the Christian Faith Club, he was an avid reader, and a huge sports fan who enjoyed the Chicago Black Hawks, Chicago White Sox, and Notre Dame Sports. Ron is survived by his loving family; wife Jenny Summerhill, Crown Point, sons Jason (fiancée Stephanie) Summerhill, Hobart, Justin Summerhill, Hobart, and Joel (Abagail) Gratcyk, Chicago, daughters Elizabeth Gratcyk, Highland and Helana (Nathaniel) Martin, Lowell, mother Betty Summerhill, Hobart, brother David (Vicki) Summerhill, Portage, and Karen Sefton, LaCrosse, beloved mother of his sons Jason and Justin, Rhonda Bertram, Crown Point, and other loving family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Summerhill and his brother-in-law George Sefton. A visitation for Ron Summerhill will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Valparaiso Baptist Church, 612 Emmettsburg Road, Valparaiso. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso. I would like very much to extend my concolences and pray to the family. Ron, was a very special person whom I had the pleasure of working with for twenty plus years at Methodist Hospital.
