Ronald Schwartz Obituary

Schwartz, Ronald E. Passed away peacefully on February 29, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron grew up in Cleveland and earned degrees from Akron University and Cleveland State University. He spent most of his career as a coach and Athletic Director, most recently serving as the Athletic Director for Sacred Heart Schools, Chicago. His leadership, dedication and integrity had a tremendous impact on the growth and development of one of the largest elementary school athletic programs in the country. What he loved most about his work was his interaction with the students and overseeing the development of young coaches. Ron was a kind and caring friend, colleague, mentor, and coach. A friend once said that Ron was not only the kind of guy who would give a person the shirt off his back, but that he would actively seek them out to give it to them. He will be greatly missed by all. Funeral Mass Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Gertrude Church, 6200 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago, IL 60660. Interment private.
