I am so sorry about your loss. I went to Dr. Rothenberg for many years. I dreaded the day he retired because I knew I would never find someone that truly cared about me as a person and patient. He was not only my dentist but someone I truly respected as a person / professional.

Dear Shirlee,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. If I did not have to work I would have tried to tell you in person. By the time someone like your husband gets to Sunrise or any place like it, it has already been a long road, because these decisions are not arrived at easily. We didn't get to meet or know the man before the disease took hold. You were forced to make decisions for someone you loved and trust that it was the right one. Your devotion to Ronald thoughout this journey is truly the testament to this man and your loving life together...no matter what the story was before. When the going got tough (and it was) you never failed to show up for him. You brought his meds and food and whatever else you could muster to make sure he was being cared for. Your presence in his life showed people the man we did not know. The dentist who worked hard, raised a family, and used to play the violin, who enjoyed a life that he he could no longer enjoy or share. There is no kind or gentle way to die from this disease. Knowing that he is at peace now, I hope will give you some comfort.
