Rolland W. “Swany” Swanson, 73, a resident since 1977 of Gresham, Oregon, a U.S. Merchant Marines veteran of World War II, an employee of Reynolds Aluminum for 34 years until his retirement as Foreman in 1982, passed away in Clackamas, Oregon, on Thursday, July 13, 2000. A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19, 2000, 1 p.m., at Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel, 520 West Powell Boulevard, Gresham. Committal services will follow at Mt. View Corbett Pioneer Cemetery, Corbett, Oregon. The family will accept living plants. Memorial contributions are appreciated to the Reynolds Little League, P.O. Box 819, Fairview, OR 97024-0819.

Grandpa was a good roll model for me, he worked hard loved his family and lived a good life. All though it hurts to see him gone.. Grandpa never wanted to live with cancer. and i think god gave him that wish. I miss him and will never forget him.
