Roger Coughlin Obituary

Coughlin, Rev. Roger J. 84, associate administrator of Catholic Charities passed away April 15, 2010. Beloved son of the late William T. and Ruth M., nee Corcoran; loving brother of the late William N. (the late Rita) and Thomas H. (the late Charlotte); cherished uncle of William N. Coughlin, Lynn Laverik, James Coughlin, Celeste Carrier, Mary Keys and Norene Filomeo and grand uncle of many nieces and nephews; dearest cousin of Joan Kelly, Mary Lee Sund and Leo Kennedy; and also survived by numerous friends and colleagues. Ordained a priest in 1951, Fr. Coughlin served as assistant pastor at Our Lady of the Angels, Chicago until 1956, when at age 30, he became an assistant director of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m. in the St. Louise de Marillac Chapel on the second floor of Catholic Charities St. Vincent Center, 721 N. LaSalle St., Chicago and Monday, 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St., Chicago. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
