Roberto Requena Obituary
Roberto Requena, "Veto", age 67, late of Chicago, IL passed away on October 9, 2023. Beloved son of the late Pedro and late Dolores Requena. Loving brother of late David P. Requena, Ester Requena, Raquel (late Hector) Ortiz and Berta Requena. Dear uncle of late Christopher Requena, Pedro (Elizabeth) Ortiz and Victor (Ryncia) Ortiz. Dearest great-uncle of Alexander Ortiz, Emma Ortiz, Aiden Ortiz, Skyler Ortiz and Connor Ortiz. Also survivd by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Roberto served 38 years as a supervisor in the area of therapeutic recreation for the State of Illinois. He was a member of various professional and dance organizations. He also loved to DJ events, and was an avid bicycle and fishing enthusiast. Visitation Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services Friday, October 13, 2023, at 9:15 a.m. from the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617 to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Cemetery private. 773-731-2749. www.elmwoodchapel.com.

Roberto was a dear friend of mine. We were dance partners. He taught me so much about people, relationships, and human behavior. Roberto was a man of integrity and honor, deeply spiritual and kind. The world will miss Roberto.
