Robert Worrell Obituary

Montgomery, NY

Robert E. Worrell of Montgomery, NY, a retired Supervisor for Automatic Electric Co., Chicago, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 in Goshen. He was 85. He resided in Montgomery since 1979.

The son of the late Thomas L. and Edna Earl Mann Worrell, he was born June 4, 1923 in Boone County, Indiana.

He was a combat veteran in the Army during World War II and was recalled for the Korean Conflict ERC.

He was a member of Kem Temple Shriner AAONMS, Grand Forks, ND, Scottish Rite Valley of Minot, ND, Trinity Lodge 152, Kalispell, Mont, HRTS #286 Eastern Star, Mountainville, NY, was Patron several times in Eastern Star, Life & Charter Member Post 1535 VFW, Kentucky Colonel, Held a GS11 rating, life member American Legion #521.

He was the widower of his first wife Grayce M. Heller Worrell.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene J. & daughter, Marilee G. Worrell at home; brother, Virgil Worrell of Indiana; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Levi Errold & David Earl Worrell & two sisters, Doris Lee Hankins & Marggeret Lurue Adams.

Visitation will be Friday, February 20, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Overhiser Funeral Home, 78 Union St., Montgomery, NY.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 21, at 10 a.m. at the Overhiser Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Milz will officiate.

Burial will be in Orange County Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Orange-Sullivan Region, 419 East Main St. Middletown, NY 10940-2552.

Arrangements were made by Millspaugh Funeral Directors.

Marilee - Glenn worked with your dad at Highland Tel. and we would visit you and parents on Christmas Eve after church. I even think your dad helped spread concrete at our garage addition at Hambletonian Park. So sorry for your loss.
