Robert Webb Obituary

Robert C. ³Bud² Webb, 82, of Sun City, Arizona, died Thursday, July 6, 2006. Bud was born in Streator, Illinois and moved with his parents to Albuquerque, New Mexico and later to Pasadena, California. He became a licensed Ham Radio operator at the age of 14 and continued this hobby throughout his life. After graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy in 1941. He served his country for 30 years and traveled all over the world. He was a Frogman and later became a Chief Radioman and instructor in communications at the Norfolk, Virginia Naval Base. He deeply cherished his time in the Navy. After retiring from the Navy, he was a field engineer for Bendix Corporation under contract by U.S. Information Agency to install communication towers on the U.S. Embassies in all the Capitol Cities in Europe and South Africa. Following that he worked at the Naval Communication Systems Command in Washington, D.C. He married Marilyn (Fitch) Schultz in 1971 in Falls Church, Virginia. They moved to Nashua, New Hampshire for one year and then to Indianapolis, Indiana for 26 years where he managed two Radio Shack stores. He then became a Computer Tech for Center Grove schools for 3 years until his wife retired from teaching. They moved to Sun City in 2002 and Bud became an avid lawn bowler. He was admired by people who knew him for his zest for life and his wonderful sense of humor while enduring throat cancer. He was a member of Willowbrook Methodist Church and the church choir until his illness caused him to retire. Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marilyn; Daniel and Shalei Webb, son and daughter-in-law; granddaughter, Zoe of Mesa, Arizona; step-children: David R. Schultz of Vienna, Virginia; Jeanne Marie Holly of DeKalb, Illinois; Paul and Sally Fitch, brother-in-law and sister-in-law of Madison, Indiana and six step grandchildren.Services will be held at the veterans National Memorial Cemetery on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. and a memorial service will be held at Willowbrook Methodist Church, Saddle Ridge and 99th Avenue in Sun City, Arizona at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 13, 2006. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Willowbrook United Methodist Church or Four Paws Animal Shelter in Peoria, Arizona. Visit this person¹s Guest Book at www.dailynews-sun.com.

Dear Marilyn & Family....

It has been a pleasure to associate with Bud, on the Lawn Bowling rink. It was amazing to watch Bud's strong will & determination to "keep going"! (even though he got a "little ticked" at me a couple of times)

(of course I never cause trouble! (Laugh)Thanks for the great memories! I send my love & concern to you & your family.
