Robert Smith Obituary

Robert "Bob" Weston Smith passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on August 6, 1940, in Epping, New Hampshire, to Hazel Irene Wells and Weston Jackson Smith, Bob lived a life full of service, hard work, and joy.

Bob proudly served his country first as a machine operator with the New Hampshire National Guard, and later as an airplane mechanic at Andrews Air Force Base with the United States Air Force. His mechanical prowess continued in his professional life, where he worked as the head mechanic at Fair Lanes bowling alley in Baltimore, Maryland from 1967 to 1984. In 1984, Bob moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and continued his work as head mechanic at Queen Anne's Bowl in Chestertown until his retirement in 1998.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Bob stayed active in his retirement, working part-time as an auto parts delivery driver. He was a man of many hobbies and found joy in boating, fishing, playing pool, and spending quality time with his friends. Bob was known affectionately as "Bar Daddy" and was loved by many.

Bob had a daughter, Shawnda Marie. His legacy of kindness, dedication, and friendship will be remembered by all who knew him.

Services will be held at the Eastern Shore Veteran's Cemetery in Hurlock, Maryland at a later date.
