Things I will always remember and cherish about my Uncle Bob: 1) He took the time, while he was "courting" my Aunt Bert to play with my sister and I- his tickles and horsebites were something we looked forward to with every visit to Rock Lane. And the sky-high pop-ups he'd throw me in the back yard on Woodruff Road were incredible! 2) He had great taste in women proposing to my Aunt Bert- do I recall correctly that he had you open the glove compartment to find the engagement ring? 3) He and Bert produced three incredible boys/cousins who have turned out to be three incredible men- and he went along with the crazy idea of allowing me the priviledge of being Godfather to one of them. Do you guys remember me chasing your car when you would leave from visits to our house? 4) He was a quiet guy- a little on the introverted side I think, which made me feel less self-conscious about being that way myself. An incredibly kind, gentle, loving, giving man with a great sense of humor- I always enjoyed the give and take exchanges he and my Mom would give each other about their ages. I could go on for quite some time. He ended his life with a most strong and courageous battle against the most dreaded of diseases and though it pains me deeply to know he's gone from us, I am grateful to know that he is now pain free and experiencing great joy with our Lord whose New Commandment he lived so well. My deepest condolences, love and prayers to Bert, Bob, Patrick, and Kevin along with his siblings and the rest of the family. We all will miss him dearly. I am very sorry that I could not make it up for his services. Rest in Peace Uncle Bob; I love you.

He could talk for hours of his family. Thank you for sharing your husband and dad with us. He will be missed. I will always remember Uncle Bob from the summers I spent at the house as a young girl, learning to sew and helping with the garden. The boys were just babies... I will never forget Uncle Bob's kind voice, nor his caring and playful manner. He really did make us cousins feel special, one and all. We will all miss him very much and are only comforted in knowing that he had very strong faith, is now at God's side and no longer suffering. God Bless all the family. We all love you very much.

Dear Bert,
Although it's been only for the past year that we've really gotten to know you and Bob, we feel like we've known you forever. We will certainly miss Bob in our Small Christian Community Group. He always had such meaningful experiences and lessons to share with us all. He was a very saintly man, one from whom we all learned the true meaning of FAITH. It has been our privilege to be a friend of both you and Bob, and we thank you for that gift. For now, Bob, rest in the arms of the Lord until we're once again reunited. Our love, peace and blessings to the entire Slattery family.

It seems so hard to believe I am writing this, it seems like yesterday we were all together at yet another family picnic. I miss those days so much more than I even want to admit- Happy Days! They say every good thing must come to an end and God has taken another good one home. I have no words that haven't been already said, Uncle Bob was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him. May the great memories of a life well lived help us all at this difficult time. Gone but not forgotten - RIP Uncle Bob!

Dear Bert, Bob, Patrick,and Kevin,
We send our deepest condolences. I have such fond memories of growing up with Bob -- he was my buddy. And he became a truly good man who, throughout his life, tried always to do what he thought God wanted him to do ... and he succeeded, bringing the light of Christ to so many people along the way. We were all blessed to know him. I am sure that our dear Lord welcomed Bob with open arms. May God grant him eternal rest, and may He send each one of you His grace, consolation, courage, and strength.
With deepest sympathy,

I remember growing up with Bobby and Paul and Sheilah, my dear cousins, visiting back and forth especially on those amazing holidays. Bobby was always true and reliable and loving. A man of few words at times, yet he was always himself, never seduced by the world. Bobby was and remains a role model of putting family first and loving without conditions. He sought to encounter God's mystery and that desire led him to consider the priesthood for a while. But God eventually led him to his true vocation as husband to his cherished Alberta and father to his beloved sons. Bobby always had a heart ready to give to others. He was a great teddy bear in the best of senses, yet he had a character that was so strong and faithful. I will miss you dear cousin, more than you know, and I will always look up to you. Love, Mary
