Robert Schulz Obituary

Schulz, Robert G. "Schulzie" 74, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at his Illinois home. He was born on December 13, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, the first son of George and Victoria (Grzesiakowski) Schulz. He served in the United States Army in Korea for two years and the United States Army Reserves for seven years. He married Phyllis Schulz in Peace Lutheran Church in Chicago on September 14, 1957. Bob and Phyllis lived in Chicago until 1962 when they built a house and moved to St. Charles. He worked at Western Electric, now Lucent Technology, for 35 years. Upon his retirement, he spent most of his time at their home in Wautoma, Wisconsin. He came home to Illinois for family birthdays and holidays. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis, St. Charles, IL; his daughter, Sherl (Mat) Mingl, Maple Park, IL; his sons, David (Lorri) Schulz, Batavia, IL; Donald (Jennifer) Schulz, Maple Park, IL, Glenn Schulz, Wautoma, WI, and adopted son, Randy Smith, St. Charles, IL; nine grandchildren, Adam, Jacob, Jonathan, Lucas, Zachary, Megan, Tristan, Hannah, and Amanda. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many wonderful friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Victoria, and his brother, Ronald. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yurs Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Rte. 38), Geneva. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. For info., please call 630-232-7337.
