Retired Security Officer from Homeland Security. Member of the Matteson American Legion Post 474 and Park Forest American Legion Post 1198. Die Hard Chicago White Sox fan. Husband of Suzanne nee Voelke and the late Joyce nee Schoot. Father of Tanya (fiance Jason Lagace) Phelps, Theresa (Dustin) Zea and Robert (fiancé Chrystal Miller) Phelps Jr. Step- father of Michael Cook and Jeffrey (Teresa) Cook. Grandfather of Alexia Shankel and Dalilah Lagace, Evelyn and Zoey Zea, Zachary and Ava Phelps. Son of the late Theresa P nee Bucz and William R. Phelps. Brother of Joseph Groh, Donna Phelps-Groh, the late Carmen Groh and Rick Clark. Uncle and friend of many. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W 14 th St (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Sunday July 31, 2022 from 2:00 pm until time of service 5:00 pm. Bob was not only the best Federal officer who always protected us but he was also a good friend - with a big heart. My condolences to his beautiful wife and children! Bob you were simply the best my friend !! Rest in eternal peace.
