Robert Krueger Obituary

Robert John Krueger

LANCASTER: Robert John Krueger of Lancaster died April 20, 2013, at Carriage Court of Lancaster.

He was born March 13, 1918, in Detroit and had a long and fulfilling life full of family, friends and hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eileen; brother, James (Lou Ann); and his wife of 48 years Florence (Feef).

He is survived by sons, Robert M. (Terri) and Roderick C. (Gayle) and daughter, Christine M.; grandchildren, Cory (Sandy), Carrie Hanna, Casey and Jenna Fisher; great-grandchildren, Caleb Hanna, Maddox Lane, Sophia, Grace and Izabella Palmer.

Bob retired as Purchasing Manager for Diamond Power in 1982 after a 45 year career. He was an Army veteran of World War II attaining the rank of First Sergeant and participated in D-Day and the European Theater of Operations. He attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church where he served as an usher; and was a member of the American Legion, La Societe Des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, Knights of Columbus, Elks and Lancaster Board of Realtors. The family would like express its thanks to the staff of Carriage Court of Lancaster and FairHoPe Hospice and Palliative Care Inc. for their care and respect.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, at St. Bernadette's. Military graveside service will follow at St. Mary's cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 PM Tuesday at Sheridan Home, Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests donation to Carriage Court of Lancaster, St Bernadette's School Fund or FairHoPe Hospice.

I worked for Mr. Krueger in the 60s as his private Secretary. He was the Asst. Purchasing Agent at that time. He was a great boss and I adored working for him. Those were the days of dictaphones..typewriters and file cabinets. Wish I could have kept track of him but I was a USMC wife and travelled all over. The best boss I ever had!

Chris, Rick & Bob - I'm so sorry for your loss. However, you had a wonderful family which I often felt a big part of. I wish there was something I could do to ease your grief. I will be thinking of all the "memories" for a long time. Love & sympathy to you all.
