Robert Howe Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert James Howe announces his passing, at the age of 86, after three months of stays in and out of hospitals, ER's and a rehab he died of natural causes at home in Chicago on January 17th 2021 He died peacefully in his bed with his Life Partner of 13 years, Joe Rodrick at his side. Robert will be lovingly remembered by his surviving Nephews, Ted Thompson, John Jr Howe, Charlie Howe, Michael Howe, and Thomas Jr. Howe. Robert was predeceased by his Father Thomas Patrick Howe and Mother Hannah Sara (Bockelman) Howe, his brothers, Thomas Howe and John Howe and his niece Diana (Howe) Thompson. Robert was also predeceased by his previous life Partner of 39 years, Lewis Davis.
Robert was born in Chicago on September 18th 1934. Though Robert was born blind in his left eye and with many medical problems in his right eye he followed up with his dream of Floral Design. Robert Loved music and had season tickets to the Opera and Chicago Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years. He was also well known within the Chicagoland Low Vision communities. He loved to travel and did so many times with Lew Davis. He especially loved Europe.
A 9:00am Visitation and a 10:00am Service will be held at St Gertrude Church on February 13th, 2021 located at 1420 Grandville Ave. Chicago, IL. 60660

I've known Robert Howe for over 35 years...he was a sweet, caring man...like a brother...we went to operas, symphonies, plays all around town. I miss him terribly....luv you Bobby.

Great Uncle Bob was the sweetest, most thoughtful man. I remember when my sister, Kristi and I, were growing up, he would call to wish us happy birthday or on holidays. He was always interested in what was going on in our lives and loved to chat. He’d ask how school was going, or what our plans were for the summer.
I can still hear his voice when I think of him. He will truly be missed, but now has his place in heaven chatting with friends and family. I love you, Uncle Bob.
