I am completly stunned. Robert has been a client of mine for well over 20years. When he did not show up for his hair appointment, at the usual time, I became concerned. It is only now that I dared to think that something wrong. I come to work in Chicago every 4 weeks, from PA. One of the people I look forward to seeing is Robert. His humor, warnth and charm was much appreciated by me and other clients.
Robert was an entertaining cleint, with loads of interesting facts. I really liked the fact that he " followed the ponies"
Again, I am stunned at his passing. Having just found out.
The world just got a little darker for me.....

I have had the wonderful honor and privilege of being one of Bob’s friends and confidant for 20 years.
I first met Bob, when I transferred to the Wicker Park local office in October of 1988. However, if Bob was to tell it, he would also include the actual date, day of the week and some other relevant and interesting facts. That was Bob...He had more than a knack to remember but an ability to recall specific events, with extreme accuracy, detail and historical references. Bob had this special gift because he truly valued and cared about people.
Family, Relatives, Classmates, Acquaintances, Colleagues, Wagner afficionados and Handicappers... we are all Bob’s friends. We are the intricate pieces and together we became the foundation of Bob’s life. What a rock! Although several of us may have never met, we represent the many passions and interests to Bob and I think we all will remember him as being sincere, polite, kind, generous and caring.
Bob worked diligently and was dedicated to doing his best work. He was extremely smart, clever and had a wonderful laugh and valued the same in others. Amidst this crazy, chaotic world, Bob held steadfast and showed the true qualities of humanity... selflessness, unrelenting kindness and forgiveness.
Randi, Mark and family, Bob has left an indelible mark on our lives. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I will cherish my friendship with Bob forever but it is hard for all of us to deal with the loss of our dear friend. We can now only hope and pray that he knew how much he meant to all of us. Some people make the world a better place but without Bob, our world just got a little sadder. We will never see our friend again. To me, it will never be the same. Bob, I miss you already but I will never forget you. I hope our paths will cross again someday.

Bob Dotz was a good man and a true professional. I worked with Mr. Dotz for ten years at the Wicker Park local office. I can't count on a hundred hands how many times we joked around in the office. Mr. Dotz ironic sense of humor made for a great office atmosphere. He always brought a sense of calmness and fairness to everything he did. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to his family.

Dear Family of Bob Dotz,
I worked with Bob at the Wicker Park Office of the Illinois Dept. of Public Aid in the mid-90s. He was a fine supervisor of his staff and one of the finest people I worked with in my time with the state. I was saddened to read to read of his death today. Please accept my sincerest sympathy on the death of your brother and family member.

I am very shocked and saddened by the death of my long-time supervisor and mentor. Mr. Dotz was a kind, generous, funny and smart man. He never hesitated helping people, and he was never mean, even when it came to performing negative aspects of his job. From what I was told, it was he who recommended me for my temporary promotion at work.
I will miss him and never forget him. My condolences go out to his family and friends.
