Robert (Bobby) James Cronin, Sr. passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the age of 67. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Kenner, La. Born in the Irish Channel, he grew up in Kenner and attended East Jefferson High School. Bobby lived in Kenner with his wife, Yolanda, for 25 years. Beloved husband of Yolanda Maldonado Cronin. Loving father of Robert (Bobby) Cronin, Jr. (wife Michelle) and Jesse Cronin (wife Stephanie). Grandfather to Brett, Owen, Joseph, and Lauren Cronin. Son of the late Joyce Claire Wingerter Cronin and Jeremiah Joseph Cronin. Brother of Jane Cronin Matthews, Timothy Cronin (Sandy), Cornelius Cronin (Lynn), Claire Cronin Russell and the late Jeremiah Cronin, Jr., (Linda), Jack Cronin (Michele), and Patrick Cronin (Charlene). Also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Bobby is known for his strong work ethic taking pride in every job. He worked over 30 years for General Maintenance in Kenner as a Construction Supervisor. He travelled all over the city and state repairing and upgrading service stations. He began early in his life with woodworking. His wife often called him "MacGyver" because he could fix anything. He was so reliable helping family and friends as they needed it. Bobby loved his music enjoying Rock and Roll all his life. He started playing the trumpet in Junior High School and graduated to picking his guitar and playing the keyboard to "find the tune". He knew all the titles and artists over the decades. Bobby would gather his ice-chest of beer to sit at the lakefront to fish and relax. He liked cutting logs with his chainsaw and chopping wood to make campfires. He enjoyed target shooting, watching the stars and Bar-B-Q's in the woods of Osyka, Ms. Bobby was a fireworks connoisseur celebrating every July 4th and New Years Eve in grand style. Bobby took very good care of Aunt Stella and loved his dog, Bree. Bobby (Farmer Bob) maintained bountiful vegetable gardens over the years. He kept his lawn and house meticulously. Bobby celebrated events holding crawfish boils at his house with great bands and fun crowds. Bobby recently enjoyed his trip to Poland with his wife, Yolanda, Father Paul Clark and friends from Devine Mercy Catholic Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation and Memorial Mass at L. A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, 2607 Williams Blvd., Kenner on Friday, December 17, 2021. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 3:00 p.m.
