Robert Albano Obituary

Albano, Robert Rene Age 88, passed peacefully in his Chicago home surrounded by the love of his life, Louise (Klein) on October 4th, 2018. He was born to Galileo Albano and Mary (Laurenzana) on November 16th, 1929. He & Louise married on May 21st, 1955 in Blue Island, IL and enjoyed a long and loving marriage of 63 years. He is survived by Louise and their 8 children, Mary Louise Albano (Michael Swisher), Robert (Susan), Susan (Mark) Dariz, Diane Plauck, Albert (Lori), Anthony (Cruz), Lorraine (Tony) Pecorarro and Leo (Wendy); and his 20 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. Bob earned his Master's Degree in Music Arrangement & Composition at Northwestern University in 1952. We will remember him for his musical genius and ability to warm hearts by filling the room with a tune on the piano, clarinet or saxophone. We will remember forever his uncanny memory of musical details, jokes, stories and quick wit. When he was not repairing and selling instruments at his store, Austin Music Center, he would enjoy sporting events, playing outdoors with his children or regaling people at his baby grand piano with well-known jazz and show tunes. Bob was happiest when entertaining his children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews with their 'special name' songs and a musical l birthday greeting. Funeral Services are Tuesday October 9th 2018 at St. Francis Borgia Church with visitation from 9:00-10:30 a.m. and mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Chapel, 1400 S.
