Dear, Larry, Debi, D.D., and Sheryl,



My heart goes out to all of you. I wish I could have been there, but I couldn't. Steve and I think of "Grandma Rita" often.

Dear Lucas Family:



We are so deeply sorry for your loss. It has been years since we have seen Rita, but she has never been, or ever will be forgotten. She was a truly remarkable person who brought joy to so many lives.

I met Rita at a Friday class of needlepoint and she was the most warm and welcoming person in the room. She loved doing needlepoint works for her family. Her smile and sense of humor will be sorely missed. I hope her family has many of her homemade treasures along with many happy memories to remember her by. I know I will never forget her generous and loving personality.

Dear Larry and Family...Rita was one of those special people that ORT brought into my life. Thinking of her brings a smile to my face. Although I haven't seen her for years I shall never forget her.

rita was a wonderful lady. i will remember her always. all of you are in my thoughts. i loved working with her, it was an honor just to know her, a lady with so much love and class, she was in a class all of her own

I was sorry to hear about Rita. We worked together many years ago in ORT. She always brought a "ray of sunshine" into any room she entered. Now, I know, wherever she is, sunshine and goodwill will be there. She will always be remembered for the good person she was in life.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Rita. She was simply the finest person Kevin & I ever knew. I have some wonderful memories of many holidays with you both in our home that I will cherish forever. My condolences go out to the entire family.

Lovely, loving, beautiful, caring, sensitive, extremely funny, thoughtful, tasteful, courageous, an amazing story teller (how much was fact or fiction, we’ll never know); Rita Lucas, my favorite person, my most favorite cousin, my friend, fighter till the end, never missed a beat in life. We should all live such a full life.



Those who knew her know that their lives have been enriched forever.

I had the great priviledge of working with Rita. This January Rita was a source of strength for me as she helped me through my own mother's mastcomy and treatment phase. I will eternally be grateful for her support. I just wanted you to know how much she touched the lives of others - some of whom you will never know. My deepest condolences.

What a wonderful person Rita was!

She worked for my parents at Nadler's Kiddyland toy store in Hyde Park during high school. We all loved her. She had such a special way with all people. Her great smile and laugh will surely be missed. You were lucky to have her in your lives. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Also on behalf of my daughters Chrissie and Amanda, my condolences with Rita's passing. I will always remember Rita's patience and advice to everyone. Everyone else came always first, even when Rita should have thought about herself. She always had that million dollar smile on her face, which made all of us happy. We will miss you, but that smile will be with us forever. We will always love you.

Rita and I met as freshmen in high school and our paths crossed so many times over the years. I don't think I ever saw Rita without a big smile on her face. It was a privilege to have known her. My deepest condolences to her family.
