Rich was one of the first on our front porch when we moved to the Ridgeway neighborhood, and a better representative of the warm reception we would receive here could not have been chosen. Our hearts are with each of you during this sad and difficult time.

As a Chicago-based film Location Manager I just want Rich's family and friends to know that he will be missed by the local film production community. He was an important part of our crews over the years, and his pleasant demeanor was something many people could learn from. Although he has left us, fond memories remain.

Dear Mrs. Reardon, Richie, Julianne, Melissa, and Lydia....our deepest sympathy and condolences on your loss.

Mr. Reardon as he will always be known to me, how many times he would insist on me calling him Rich now that I was an adult. But honestly I would have been more comfortable calling him Dad than Rich. For this was a man that treated me more as a son than a next door neighbor! It is too easy to take time with one another for granted.

As I grew up and moved out of the neighborhood to start a family of my own, I didn't see the Reardons as often as I would have liked. Lucky for me my father and some of his circle of friends which included Mr. Reardon, started a "once a year Ski Club meeting" which basically consisted of a group of people getting together around the holidays to reminisce about old times, new times and life in general, over food and drink. Over the years it expanded to include sons of the founding fathers, friends, acquaintances, etc.

Mr. Reardon will be sorely missed at our next get together! But in honor of my "Step Dad" I'm going to propose the Ski Club begin getting together at least two more times a year!

So long Mr. Reardon and rest in Peace!

Love,

John and Nancy Stummer

Dear Pat, Richie, Julianne, Meilssa and Lydia...My deepest condolences to you all on your loss.

I have such fond memories of the Reardon family from the 'hood', to numerous to mention here but there is one that I remember like it was yesterday. One time when we were just kids I was over at your house on Ridgeway and Rich was making sandwiches under the broiler and I was invited to have an open faced grilled cheese with tomato sammie with the family. I had never had that before and boy was it good. Richie Jr was telling me that day how he really wanted to be a writer some day when he grew up. I also remember the first day the Reardon clan hit Murphy school when you first moved into the neighborhood. Oh I can go on and on but I will spare everyone else reading.

Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I learned the sad news today of the death of Rich Reardon, a really neat guy. My condolences to his wife Pat, his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Our lives crossed many times between high school and more recent and yet each time we spoke it was if there was no time lost between conversations. We shared the challenges as cancer survivors with encouragement and support. This Irishman lived his life, and will be missed by all who loved and enjoyed his company. He remains in my prayers and all who mourn him.
