Richard Faglie Obituary

FAGLIE, Richard V., 81, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Father's Day, June 15, 2008 at his home. He was born October 2, 1926 in Cardwell, Va. to Richard Claude and Francis F. Vaughan Faglie. He married Lena R. Sckinto of Richmond on September 1, 1948. He served his country in the Civil Air Patrol and then the U.S. Army, when he was stationed in the Philippines during WWII. Upon his return to civilian life, he went to work at Vepco and retired from the Real Estate Department of Dominion Resources 47 years later. He was a proud member of the Virginia Conservative Party, a life-member of the John Birch Society, as well as the Sons of the Confederacy and the Virginia Aeronautical Historical Society. He was the co-owner of the Richmond American Opinion Library. He faithfully attended Immanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Linda and husband, George Johns of Michigan; his brother, Roland and wife, Patricia of Richmond; his sister, JoAnn Amidon of Dumfries; grandchildren, Claire and husband, Graig Srock Charles, Kathryn and Robert Johns, all of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, George; and his wife, Lee. Remains rest at Norman Funeral Home, where family will receive friends Thursday, June 19, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 1 p.m. Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Crozier, Va.
