Dudgeon, Richard K. age 81, longtime resident of Homewood, passed away February 20, 2006. He was the loving husband of Annie (nee Harris) Dudgeon, loving father of Maxine McMartin, Janet Dudgeon and Alexis (Charles) Nash, fond brother of Beth (Cecil) Turnbull, proud grandfather of Jennifer, David and Christopher and great-grandfather to Nathaniel and Brooke, his parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Richard was a retired Lt. Colonel of the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of WWII, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He also retired, as a regional director of the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of NARFE and former member of Governors State Alumni Board. Visitation at Hirsch Lincolnway Chapel, 3501 W. Lincoln Hwy, Matteson, IL, on Friday, February 24th, from 3 to 7 p.m. Entombment of cremains at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, on Tuesday, February 28th, at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. All of us here at Cardiac Rehab, South Suburban Hospital, will miss Dick very much. He always worked hard on his fitness plan, and was also the first to help others who needed a boost! His name will be entered into the prayer book in the hospital chapel, and we will think of him often.
