To the David family: We are sad that your dad, Richard, has died. Richie, we know that he was so proud of you and that your memory gave him so much joy. We are happy that he is with you again. As you know, your mother misses her dear husband of 60 years so much. Grieving the loss of a son and and partner and parent can take a long time, so we just wanted to let you know that all the Davids and their loved ones are in our thoughts. We share in the hope that the wonderful memories you have of Richie and Richard will bring you comfort in the months and years ahead.

Richard, I wanted to tell you how much I love your sister Cathy and your niece Cayla. I am lucky to know of your family because of my son Keith who brought your sister and Cayla and my husband Tucker into your family. We live in St Paul Mn. Your Mom and Dad, Cheryl, Robert and Cathy talk of you with love and pride and so much that I know you I feel. Keith is my first child and he's always been older wiser and smarter and more forgiving than me but he's luckier to have had your sister in his life than anyone.
It's Cathy's 46 birthday today and she is beautiful. She is working 2 jobs almost to exaustion to help her brilliant daughter to afford tuition at Carthage College in Wisconsin. Cayla plays the tuba and is a woman you would admire and befriend instantly. I never saw a mother and daughter more in tune and alike. Keith loves her too and has guided her best he could all these years. I wasn't at all the mother you have but my Keith and his brother Colin accept my shortcomings and have been better men than I could ever want. To My Big Brother Richie,until now I wasn't quite sure of what to write here for you. Well today while I was driving in the car it hit me, and hit me hard. I heard a song that reminded me of my ride to see you at the hospital. Only because I payed this song over and over all the way from Ohio to Michigan. Well anyway when I heard it today I thought I'd write it in here so I could share it with everyone who reads this. This song not only reminds me of that time but also of Greg to. I wanted to share this with everyone.



Last night, my son Elijah and I were in the garage. He packed his bags. (a little bag he received from chuckie cheeses and a sandwich bag)



I asked him where he was going, he said to me " I am running away to heaven so I can see my Uncle Richie, Petie (my sisters dog) Baily (my dog)" I said " Ok, bye then" He walked down the driveway got to the end of it, turned around and walked back. I asked him why he came back and he said " I don't know how to get there". Of course I tried to explain that Richie and the animals are in his heart and all over. Of course he responded with "But I can't see him".



I think it is great he is always thinking of his Uncle Richie, Petie and Baily.

I made cookies on your birthday and brought them in to work to celebrate your birthday.Everyday that goes by I think about you.Wondering how it must be like in heaven. Is it all full of light and are you sitting on the clouds looking down at everyone.Every morning I think of you when I look at that old fashion (your days)clock you gave me. The quality of time we shared, and the memories we have of him.

And those memories can never be taken away.



The memory of his smile, so big and filled with life.

The memory of his laugh, so loud and from the heart.

The memory of his hugs, so meaningful and true.

The memory of every moment, every moment I spent with you.

I'm very sorry for your loss and I'm sad I didn't meet you at the wake Wednesday evening. See Richie and me were best friends growing up. We did everything together. From bowling to playing outside we were always together. Joanne and Rich pretty much adopted me when I was little. To them thank you very much for all you did for me as a kid.I will always love you guys very much. I'm also very sad I didn't keep in touch with Richie all of these years.You know How things go you grow up and drift apart but he will always be in my heart.
