Rich was one of the "Charter" Stewards when we first started the Steward Program in Local 2 not long after the Strike. He remained a steward until the day he retired. I was 5th Dist B.A. at the time, and Rich asked me to appoint John McClorey to replace him as steward, which I was happy to do. If Rich asked for him, then I knew he would be the best man for the job. Rich was an invaluable asset to the Union and a great mentor to the younger guys. He'll be missed. RIP Brother.
