Reno Frigo Obituary

Frigo, Reno A. "Lefty" age 79, longtime Coloma, MI, resident formerly of Chicago's Roseland-Pullman area. Former owner of Santi Blatz Beer Distributing and longtime beer truck driver on the far Southside of Chicago, died of Pulmonary Fibrosis May 25th, at his home. Born July 8, 1924 and raised in the Pullman area, he was a Die Hard Cub Fan. Played baseball in Park District leagues, at Fenger High School and while serving the Army in the Asian Pacific during WWII. Longtime manager for the Roseland Little League who helped intiate Little League's Player Participation Rule. Enjoyed golf and recorded a hole-in-one May 5, 1994, in Sun City, AZ. He leaves a legacy of "doing your best" and "being fair", devoted husband of Edna (nee Santi) for 55 years, loving father of Dr. Mark (Victoria), Ronald (Lori), Gary (Sue), Jo-Marie Fleming and the late Michael, fond Nonno of Michael, Cara, Amy, Anthony, Dominic, Danielle and David Frigo and Sean, Daniel, Matthew and Gianina of Fleming, dear brother to Joseph (Diane) Ollearis, uncle of Lawrence and Leonard (Marge) Ollearis, Janice (John) Ferrari, Sandra (Ron) Nagel and the late Richard (Pat) Bernardi. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 W. 14th St. (US Rt. 30, 3 blks. E. of Western Ave.), Chicago Heights, on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of service 10:30 a.m., to Infant Jesus of Prague Church. (Flossmoor Rd. 1 mile W. of Western Ave.), Flossmoor. Mass 11:15 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Hillside. Dear Jo Marie, Mrs. Frigo and Family,

Please accept my sincerest sympathies in the passing of your loving father, "Lefty." Even, now I am picturing himself with that glint in his eye and a unique smile that only he had on that "toughguy" exterior. Please know that I truly regret not being able to be with you during this very difficult time, I can only hope that there is some comfort knowing that your thought of fondly and remembered in prayer. God Bless and treasure all the moments that you celebrated together.

I AM VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS.I HAD JUST LOST MY DAD TO LUNG CANCER.I CAN REMEMBER LEFTY WHEN HE COACHED AND UMPIRED IN THE ROSELAND LITTLE LEAGUE.I ALSO CAN REMEMBER LIKE IT WAS YESTERDAY,HIM IN HIS BLATZ UNIFORM.MY CONDOLENCES TO EDNA AND THE FAMILY.
