Raymond Hober Obituary
Fr. Raymond Hober, SVD passed away August 3, 2024. Loving son of the late Stanislaus Hober and Rosella Semler. Resurrection Mass will be on August 8, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at the Divine Word Residence, 1901 Waukegan Road, Techny. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Techny. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Fr. Hober's name for the care of retired Divine Word Missionaries and infirmed missionaries, c/o Divine Word Residence, P.O Box 6000, Techny, IL 60082-6000. Arrangements by N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home 847-998-1020.

I have had the honor and pleasured of knowing Father Ray since 1954 as as friend and neighbor even before he was ordained. I still have and daily use the first rosary he blessed and gave me soon after his ordination in April of 1960. From the very outset of our association he has played an important part in my prayer life and growth in our faith. I can say, that I have kept him in my daily prayers and remembered him at Mass Daily along with his cousins Jim Boehm and Al Semler. Ray and I faithfullycorresponded while he served in Mindaro, Phillipines and in his early stages of retirement. He was my adopted SVD missionary He served well and I hope my prayers assisted his work in the name of Jesus. I know in my heart that he has received his eternal reward in response and as a reward for his work for Almighty God. Eternal rest grant unto him and may prepetual light shine upon him. Don Mahoney
