Schaeffer, Ramon D. age 83, WWII Navy Veteran, survivor of Iwo Jima, beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Kubica), loving father of John (Kimberly) and Mark (Kimberley) Schaeffer, cherished grandfather of Raymond, Anthony, Andrew, Trevor, Sara, Kathryn, and Laura, dear brother of Edna (Donald) Felz, also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation Monday, 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Lying in state Tuesday, 10:00 a.m. at Park Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1300 W. Crescent Ave., Park Ridge, until time of service 11:00 a.m. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. Past Commander of Enrico Fermi Post #1266 A.L. Past Executive Board Member of Laborers Union Local #1001. On behalf of the 5th District The American Legion I offer my deepest sympathy to the family of Ramon D. Schaeffer a Loyal Legionnaire and a veteran of the United States Navy who fought in World War II and he is considered part of "The Greatest Generation".

O God we entrust our brother Ramon D. Schaeffer to your mercy.You loved him greatly in this life; now that he is freed from all its cares, Give him happines and peace forever. the old order has passed away; welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with his God. Amen.
