Ralph Swanson Obituary
Swanson, Ralph Edward 100, lifelong resident of Chicago, passed away peacefully at his home on the evening of June 8, 2010, loving grand uncle of Joseph Ralph (Valerie) Swanson, cherished great-grand uncle of Joseph Colin and William Ryan Swanson. Mr. Swanson was a graduate of the Chicago Latin School in 1927 and Williams College in 1931. He spent his entire career working in real estate in Chicago, the city that he loved. Visitation Sunday, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 1100 Greenleaf Ave., Wilmette. Graveside service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14th at Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Gross Point Rd., Skokie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Latin School of Chicago, 59 W. North Ave., Chicago, IL 60610. Arrangements by Wm. H. Scott Funeral Home, 847-251-8200

Dear Joe: Ralph was probably my Dad's closest friend, and of course I have known him since earliest childhood, more than 65 years. I used to drop in on him every month or so at his office during his last years there, and always enjoyed our conversations.
He was always so proud of you, Joe. I remember him talking about you with pride and pleasure when you were still a boy.
The golf games with my Dad, Ralph, and Sherm Johnson, first with me as a little kid tagging along, then as a caddy, and later playing with them, at the Lake Geneva Country Club and at Royal Palm in Boca are some of my fondest memories.
I know that he was never well after his stroke, and hope that these last years were at least comfortable.
If I can ever do anything for you or your family, I would be honored to do so.
Your family has my lifelong friendship.
