Ralph Simoson Obituary

Ralph J. Simoson, 78, of Lecanto, FL, went to be with our Lord August 18, 2011, under the care of his loving wife, Judith, and HPH Hospice and New Horizons Assisted Living facility in Inverness, FL.
He was born on February 22, 1933, in Larksville, PA, to Ralph M. and Sara (Flanagan) Simoson. Ralph was a surveyor for Proctor and Gamble for many years and also worked as a concrete mason building the new Inverness Court House. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served an additional 4 years in active duty. Ralph and Judith owned several businesses including Cypress Lodge in Inverness, FL; the Variety Center for Kids in Candor, NY; a Resort/Campground in Newcomb, NY; and a mobile home park in Homosassa, FL. He was an avid fisherman and took great pride in his "Hear no Evil" Monkey collection. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Lee Simoson; and his sister, Eleanor Bombay; and Al Simoson, who was like a brother to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith Simoson, of Lecanto, FL; sisters, Marie Martin of Edwardsville, PA, June Leedock of Floral City, FL, and Donna Austin of Kingston, PA; many nieces and nephews; as well as his special friend Robin Deloria of Newcomb, NY. Also, special thanks to caregiver Elaine and to HPH Hospice caregiver Missy for their loving care as well as caregivers at New Horizons.
Private cremation will take place under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto, FL. A graveside service for Ralph will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2011, at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ralph's name to HPH Hospice in Beverly Hills, FL.
