Ralph Blalock Obituary

Jackson County - Ralph E. Blalock, age 88, of Banks County died Monday, April 28, 2008 at his residence.
Mr. Blalock was born in Jackson County on August 24, 1919, to the late Grover Elias Blalock and Thelma Goldie Waters Blalock. He was preceded in death by his sisters Rachel Ward and Lois Ferrini.
Mr. Blalock was a member at the Damascus Baptist Church having served as a deacon for a number of years. He was a former member of Board of Trustees of Grady School. Mr. Blalock was a U.S. Navy WWII Veteran, and a retired employee with Johnson & Johnson of Cornelia, with forty years of service.
Survivors include, his beloved wife of sixty-six years , Sudie Lee Kesler Blalock, Banks County; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Doug Garrison, Winder; daughter & son-in-law, Emi & Melvin Evans, Baldwin; son & daughter-in-law Charles & Janalu Blalock, Carnesville; son & friend, Jerry Blalock & Susan Burger, Banks County; son & daughter-in-law, Ronnie & Carolyn Blalock, Banks County. He is also survived by sisters, Mildred Gunter, Commerce & Ruth Curry, Auburn, and a brother, Lemuel Blalock, Augusta; twelve grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at the Damascus Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Todd and Rev. Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin.
