Priscilla Ryan Obituary

Ryan, Priscilla A. age 73, of Santa Fe, New Mexico, formerly of Chicago. Cherishing her memory are husband Robert C. Hornstein, children Robert (Sheila) Ryan, Jill Brennan, and Donna Ryan, step-children Marc (Tracey) Hornstein, Bram (Kimberly) Hornstein, and Jeffrey (Kathleen) Hornstein, grandchildren Sarah Ryan, Paul Brennan, and nine step grandchildren, fond niece of George Dyslin, adored aunt and cousin to many. A retired Chicago Public School teacher who loved life with a passion, Priscilla was a voracious reader, and an enthusiastic fan of travel, art, film, and music, especially jazz. Priscilla's memory may be honored by donating to a charity of your choice or to the BHARE Foundation, (The Brenen Hornstein Autism Research and Education Foundation) 523 Newberry Drive, Elk Grove Village, IL, 60007. We were best friends as well as cousins. I remember all the fun we had together growing up and prayer for the repose of her soul.

Grandma,
There isn't a person in the world who knew me like you did. I'll think of you as the only one who would put up with me when I was acting up, having the right sympathy when I was upset, and having the only understanding with whatever I was feeling and letting it out to you. I feel, though, that you're still there with me to know, and to care.
I'll always love you,
Paul

Dear Mom, I miss you so much it hurts. There is nothing or no one who could fill the space left by your death. I'm sorry I didn't really say "goodbye". I love you, I miss you, I need you. Love, Jillio Brennan.

To Pricilla's Family and Friends,

I and my family were so saddened to hear of Pricilla's passing. We all remember her from Mozart Street in Chicago. As a matter of fact, she is the only woman I ever allowed to call me "Sissy". We were neighbors and all of us kids grew up together and got mad at Pricilla when she couldn't take us all to the Virgin Islands with her. Donna and I used to sit on the roof atop her back bedroom and suntan and whistle at the garbage men and the guys from Gordon Tech until Pricilla made us stop. I remember all of the music and smiles she brought into our lives. We will all Miss her terribly. Hello to Donna, Jill and Bobby, (the naked runner of the neighborhood) from the Gawliks. Mickey, Lori, Steve, and Vickie and all of our kids too because they all remember her!

Dear Bob,
You and Pat have been very special neighbors to Caitlin and me. I will miss seeing Pat driving her burgundy PT Cruiser down the road. And you know how grateful Caitlin is for Pat's tutoring after school on Fridays during her elementary school years. We will miss her.
Much love to you, Bob and all who loved her.
